More About Flights to Whistler

What airline should I take when I fly to Whistler, BC?

It depends on where you are coming from. This is a list of some of the airlines that fly in and out of the Vancouver International airport: Delta Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Air Canada, WestJet, and British Airways. WestJet is a budget carrier that has lower rates but fewer in-flight amenities. Check with your preferred carrier regularly as rates fluctuate, and airlines often run specials. Lower priced flights are generally available in late spring and late fall.

How can I get from the airport to Whistler and back?

Depending on your budget, there are several transportation options. You can get to Whistler via road, rail, or air.

Take a shuttle bus, rent a driver, or rent a car, and you will get to enjoy amazing views on the Sea to Sky Highway. Airport shuttles are the lowest priced option. You can also opt to hire a driver. Rates for drivers are based on the vehicle type (Sedan, limo, bus, etc.), and are one-way. Lastly, you can rent a car at the airport.

In the summer, you can experience views of the ocean, mountains, and waterfalls from the window of a train. The reasonably-priced, 3-hour train ride includes breakfast or a hearty snack, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Another option in the summer is a float plane. What child, or adult, hasn’t dreamt about a fun flight that lands in water? The float plane ride to Whistler is just 45 minutes, and the rates are much more budget-friendly than you might imagine. The other option for traveling by air is to take a helicopter charter. These are available year round, but they are not cheap.
