A must see attraction is Underground Atlanta, built from 1866-1871, it offers a variety of entertainment venues.
Opened in 1992, the Georgia Dome is a mega facility that hosts sporting events, concerts, Supercross, MonsterJam, and professional wrestling events. Along with scheduled entertainment, it is home to the Georgia State University Panthers and the home of the Atlanta Falcons football team since first opening. The Falcons had previously called Turner Field home from 1966 until 1991. The Georgia Dome has hosted two Super Bowls, Olympic Games, NCAA finals, and many bowl games. Fans have no problem seeing the action on the field from one of several levels along with over 650 TV monitors located throughout the facility.
The Falcons kick off the season Sunday, September 7, with play action beginning at 1pm against the New Orleans Saints. Seven more home games will take place, with the last one on Sunday, December 28, at 1pm against the Carolina Panthers. Hotels are just minutes away so you can arrive early to get a good parking space. Depending on the ticket outlet, number of tickets, game day selected, and seat requirements, tickets are available starting as low as $19.75. Ample seating is available at the lower, mezzanine, club, and upper levels. Food, sweets, and assorted beverages are available throughout the facility.
For more professional and collegiate sporting action, concerts, shows, and performances, the Philips Arena provides a year round calendar of scheduled events. The arena is within walking distance, less than one mile, from the Georgia Dome. If arriving by plane, the drive time from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to the Georgia Dome and downtown and midtown hotels is about 19 minutes by car via I-85. The MARTA rapid transit system is a convenient option to the Georgia Dome, direct to the airport, and around the city using designated stations along the gold, red, blue, and green lines.
