More About Hotels near Lady Bird Lake...

What's Lady Bird Lake?

Lady Bird Lake is a man-made lake that formed as a result of the construction of Longhorn Dam in 1960. The original purpose of the lake was to cool a power plant as well as for recreational use, but is now solely used for recreation. Eventually the lake became polluted due to neglect, and former First Lady Lady Bird Johnson was asked for help in its cleanup which led to the lake eventually being named after her.
