44-Story Skyscraper Overlooking the Mediterranean

A Higher Class of Art and Culture

Hotel Arts Barcelona is a Ritz-Carlton owned hotel that rests on the calm Mediterranean, within the Gothic and Modernist marvel of Barcelona, Spain. Fine dining, relaxation, and the depth of Spanish and Catalan culture are a start, but there's much to experience in this great city, both inside and outside of the hotel. The hotel shares many features with Le Meridien, but there are three things that set Hotel Arts Barcelona in a class by itself. First, the only way to get a closer room to the ocean is by pitching a tent in the sand. Second, the staff is a higher class at Hotel Arts. Finally, Hotel Arts has a higher variety of inviting features such as an outdoor pool and hot tub. The beauty of the rooms, the pool, the sea, and the spoiling luxury of the spa are reason enough to visit, but the desire to keep coming back is spurred by something more.

Exploring Hotel Arts From Within

It's the home everyone wishes was their home. The bathrooms are spacious and well-lit, the beds are soft but hard to get out of, and the sights overlooking the city and sea are nothing short of spectacular. Before the adventure, the best place to begin is Cafe Veranda, where the waking aroma of fresh coffee meets the senses alongside delicious visions of an ever-changing buffet. With an energy-charged gym to get the adrenaline pumping, and the relaxation of a full-feature spa complete with Swedish, deep tissue, and hot stone massages, it's hard to find a reason to leave. But there are many things to do, places to see, people to meet, and the thrill of unending adventure waiting outside the hotel door.

An Ancient and Modern Adventure

There are two things the Hotel Arts Barcelona guest will not want to miss. The visionary architect Antoni Gaudi left a legacy of Catalan Modernism throughout the city, including Casa Batlló, Casa Milà in L’Eixample, and the melting cathedral, Sagrada Familia. These sights are breathtaking, and a number of majestic Gothic churches and Roman ruins are waiting to be explored as well. In addition, Barcelona was named the "best beach city" by National Geographic, and the Barcelona beach is noted both for its beauty and the beautiful people it brings.

What should the Hotel Arts guest do after exploring Barcelona's winding roads of ancient architecture and walking the warm sands of the Mediterranean? There are many Michelin-star restaurants serving the finest Catalan cuisine in the world, to start. The wine flows freely and the colorful local delicacies of huevos rotos (broken eggs over french fries cooked in olive oil), navajas (razor clams), and grilled octopus abound at La Boqueria market.

The Bottom Line

Much like the Marriott, Hotel Arts Barcelona is worthy of its five-star luxury rating. When you factor in unbeatable service, beachside pools, and cocktail-lounging hot tubs with the waves of the sea crashing nearby, this stay is not an easy act to follow.
