The Hungarian National Bank is the central bank of Hungary, and it is responsible for setting monetary policy (including interest rates, and controlling currency circulation) for the entire country. It also has a museum and visitor center.
The hotels near the Hungarian National Bank are not known for their views, due to their urban location. However, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Budapest offers views of the park and the city skyline from its upper floors. Or, choose the Hotel President Budapest and enjoy moderate views while saving big on daily rates.
Staying close to the Hungarian National Bank also puts you near attractions like the Parliament Building, plus several cafes and restaurants. You are also near the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Chain Bridge.
Though the bank is mainly viewed from the outside as a piece of architecture, it does have a visitor center with interactive exhibits on the country's coins and currency. It is only open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, so plan your visit then. To avoid traffic, take subway M2 to Kossuth ter, or the M3 subway to Arany Janos utca.
