The price includes high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access, linens, and breakfast. The hostel’s main location includes dorms, private rooms, and camping areas. Travelers who want accommodations with a more personal touch will find more than 300 rentals available on Airbnb. One-bedroom homes and apartments are available at rates comparable to a single hotel room downtown. Prices for a single room in a private home vary widely, from cheap options in the same range as a private hostel room, to rates that are on par with luxury hotels in the area. Guests who want one-of-a-kind lodging and some of the comforts of home should consider these options.

The DASH Trolley is Free

The Charleston International Airport services six airlines, and convenient shuttles and taxis are available from 5 a.m. until 30 minutes after the last flight of the day, typically around 12:30 a.m. Travelers who don’t want to hustle should avoid this last red-eye. Five major rental car agencies are available in the airport for visitors who want to drive.

There are several cheap hotels in Charleston SC near the airport. The Radisson Charleston Airport* features microwaves and refrigerators in the room so guests can enjoy cheap and convenient snacks. The Grab & Run breakfast makes it easy to get going in the morning.

Get Charleston Deals in Winter

Visitors who are after moderate temperatures will enjoy the spring and fall months. From March to May and September to November, highs range from the upper 60s to low 80s with lows in the upper 40s to low 60s. Unfortunately, most travelers agree that this weather is ideal, and hotels fill up quickly for premium prices. Summer is busy as well, thanks to school vacations.

For low hotel rates, winter is the best time to visit Charleston. From December through February, highs are in the upper 50s and low 60s, and lows average between 37 and 40 degrees. Though swimming is out, this is an ideal time for shopping, sightseeing, and scoring affordable deals. Even flights are cheaper in the colder months.
