The historic, 1,544-room Hilton Chicago once hosted presidents and dignitaries, but today it's just a massive chain hotel in South Loop, a little far from many popular tourist sites.
Lonely Planet
This was the world’s largest hotel, having close to 3000 rooms... renovations brought that total down to a mere 1544, but the gilt grandeur and crystal-dripping class have remained.
Zagat
“Though showing some age”, this “old grand hotel” with an “exquisitely decorated” lobby is “still a classy place” where “helpful” staffers cater to a mix of conference guests and families.
