Impeccable Attention to Detail and Luxury
#1 in Service
Want to visit a hotel that was ranked number one in service out of all of the Hyatts? Then the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile is the destination of choice. The fresh, contemporary feel of the public spaces, featuring locally themed artwork, and the modern simplicity of the newly renovated guest rooms make this hotel a relaxing place to return to after a day spent shopping or sightseeing. Guests enjoy the indoor pool, and nothing soothes tired, aching feet better than relaxing in the hot tub. This Hyatt also has a 24-hour fitness center.
Wi-Fi is complimentary in the hotel lobby and the second floor restaurant/lounge area. Guests also have limited Internet access in the Escape Bar, the Hyatt's business center (limited to 30 minutes every 24 hours). For visitors needing Internet access in their guest rooms, Hyatt charges a daily fee based on speed.
Unwind and/or Stay Productive
The design and functionality of Hyatt guest rooms serve a dual purpose: relaxation and productivity. While Hyatt doesn't expect its guests to work while on vacation, it provides the equipment and comfort should the need arise. Guests will find high-end amenities such as Hyatt Grand Beds with luxury linens, 46" flat-screen HDTVs, iPod docking stations, and luxurious KenetMD bath products. The oversized work desk makes having to check in with the office (almost) a pleasure.
For those requiring a little more space, the Hyatt offers corner king rooms that are larger than the standard room or a number of suites, including an executive suite.
Hyatt also offers PURE rooms. These hypoallergenic rooms go through a six-point process, including using a state-of-the-art air purifier, to remove irritants in the air. The rooms are re-certified in this process every six months.
Walk to the Pier, Shopping, and Dining
The location of this Hyatt makes a car unnecessary; parking is costly, like most downtown Chicago hotels. While public transportation is easily accessible and affordable, many of the city's most popular attractions are within walking distance. For visitors with a car, the Hyatt offers on-site parking. There's also a public lot a block away that will save visitors about $20 a day.
The Navy Pier is a short walk, and guests are a block away from Magnificent Mile, the premier spot for shopping in the Midwest.
Visitors to this area will also appreciate the many dining options. While in town, don't forget to sample some of Chicago's best flavors such as an Italian beef sandwich from Mr. Beef, which is less than a mile walk from the hotel.
The Bottom Line
The Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile is often compared to the Hotel Intercontinental Chicago Magnificent Mile. The Hyatt costs considerably less per night than the Intercontinental, and it offers more modern design elements. The Intercontinental has a historic feel while the Hyatt is modern and sleek. Both are near exquisite shopping, but the Hyatt saves guests money so they can afford a little something to bring home.
