Expert Reviews
Travel + Leisure
The Drake is the grande dame of Chicago hotels, with a prime location, storied history, white-glove service, and of course a distinguished guest list.
Try to score a room facing north or east for unobstructed views of the lake and Lake Michigan’s Oak Street Beach.
A stay at the “elegant” and “historic” Drake Hotel is “more about the experience, ambiance and history than the rooms”, which could use “a little updating.”.
Chicago's version of New York's Plaza or Paris's Ritz may no longer be the most luxurious hotel in town, but its public spaces still maintain the regal grandeur of days gone by.
