Affordable Elegance Overlooking Tivoli Gardens

Central to Attractions and Transit

The Copenhagen Plaza hotel couldn't be more convenient for travelers. Found next to the Central Train Station and overlooking Tivoli Gardens, there are several attractions and restaurants on the hotel's doorstep. The historic waterfront Nyhavn district is a short drive northeast of the hotel, while the Copenhagen Kastrup Airport is a quick drive south from Copenhagen Plaza.

Explore Top Attractions on Foot

There's no need leave the hotel when you're feeling hungry. The on-site Plaza Grill serves a buffet breakfast every morning, while the evening menu includes grilled steak, fish, and an extensive wine list. Stop by the elegant, wood-paneled Library Bar for a nightcap and don't miss the live jazz music here on Saturday nights. Want to squeeze in a quick workout? The hotel's Flora Danica fitness center features modern exercise equipment and is open every day.

If you're looking to mingle with the locals you don't have to stray too far from the hotel. The famous Tivoli Gardens, a vintage amusement park and pleasure garden, is just across the street. Browse the boutique shops along pedestrian-only streets in Copenhagen's popular Stroget shopping district, also a short walk away. Catch a show at Dagmar Theatre, Tivoli Concert Hall, or the Grand Theatre. Pay homage to Hans Christian Anderson at H.C. Anderson's Wonderful World or tour the Tycho Brahe Planetarium and watch a 3-D movie at the IMAX theatre.

Affordable Comfort

Relax in the affordable rooms at Copenhagen Plaza, decorated with classic furniture and soft colors. Checking your email is easy with the free Wi-Fi, while the well stocked mini-bar satisfies all your late night cravings. Keep your valuables safe while you're exploring Copenhagen in the electronic safe. With blackout curtains and sound-proofed rooms, you're sure to get a good night's rest.

Make you trip extra special and splurge for a Tivoli Gardens View room. These rooms are the only rooms with private balconies that overlook the gardens.

The Bottom Line -

The nearby Grand Hotel Copenhagen is also well located for tourists, affordably priced, and elegantly furnished. Unlike the Copenhagen Plaza, the Grand Hotel Copenhagen does not offer rooms with private balconies. Offering slightly cheaper room rates, the Copenhagen Star Hotel is similar to the Copenhagen Plaza hotel. However, the Copenhagen Star Hotel lacks some of the amenities that Copenhagen Plaza offers, like on-site dinner service, room service, and a fitness center.

Expert Reviews
Michelin Guide
Mix of charmingly old-fashioned and more contemporary bedrooms; some are being refurbished.
Today queens and kings stay elsewhere, although rock stars find it suits them just fine, especially its location opposite the Tivoli Gardens and close to the Central Railway Station.

This place is the essence of old-world charm.
