Founded in 1928 to hold collections of and preserve the history of Native Americans, northern Arizona's culture, and the Colorado Plateau, today it's also a research facility and festival host.
Airbnb lists a private room outside the city and close to the museum, Az Escape Zone: Queen Pillowtop. Most hotels are in Flagstaff and still only minutes from the museum. Howard Johnson Flagstaff and America’s Best Inn are budget friendly.
Since the museum is only three miles from Flagstaff, staying in the city allows you to experience its finest in restaurants, shopping, cultural diversification, and beautiful architecture.
Museum hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for Youth (ages 10-17), Students (ID needed), and Native Americans (with tribal affiliation). Children under 10 get in free.
