Affordable Luxury Close to the Heart of Florence

Nestled within the shadow of Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge, is the Continentale. This Ferragamo-family hotel blends exceptional luxury with modern design. Its 43 rooms boast mid-century decor, with slope-backed chairs, wooden sideboards, and chrome lighting creating an airy atmosphere. Wide windows frame the city beyond for the ultimate juxtaposition of the old world and the new.

Discover the City Center

Just beyond the Continentale is the historic heart of Florence. This hotel is ideally situated between Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza della Repubblica, promising easy access to world-class attractions and spectacular architecture. Major metro and tram lines can be found throughout the area, and the FLR-Peretola Airport is a mere 3.5 miles away.

Create an unforgettable experience while staying at the Continentale. Let the past come to life at the Museo Galileo. Tour the Palazzo Davanzati, a 14th-century home famed for its frieze displays. Delight in Renaissance artwork at the Bargello National Museum. Take a gondola ride along the River Arno and visit the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (known more commonly as the Duomo).

Embrace Luxury at the Continentale

The Continentale brings four-star service to every guest. Sip your favorite cocktail at La Terrazza, the rooftop bar. Indulge in a day of pampering at the White Iris Spa, which offers body scrubs, facial treatments, aromatherapy, deep tissue massages, and more. Relax by the fire in the elegant lounge, and stay connected with free wireless Internet in the meeting room.

Suites at the Continentale delight with their '50s decor and white-soaked walls. These rooms are spacious and individually climate controlled. Plush bedding ensures sweet dreams, while complimentary bathrobes and slippers keep guests feeling cozy. HD TVs, satellite services, and DVD players complete the convenience.

The Continentale is ADA-accessible and 100% non-smoking. Pets are also allowed and require no surcharge fees (though there are size limitations. Those traveling with animals should arrange rooms in advance).

The Bottom Line

The Continentale (much like the Hotel Lungarno, which is also part of the Ferragamo line) offers quality accommodations in the center of Florence. Its many amenities will impress and its access to shopping, culture, and food is unparalleled.

Despite options like childcare programs and complimentary infant bedding, however, this is not an ideal hotel for families. It’s intended for couples and business professionals, and those with young children will find few on-site entertainments. Plan accordingly.

This hotel has been built up around a medieval tower. There is a fine view of the Ponte Vecchio from the flower-fi lled terrace and from some of the attractively furnished rooms.
