Römer is a medieval building and well-known historic site in Frankfurt, Germany. It now serves as City Hall, and it has done so since the early 15th century. It is most well-known for its classical, decorative façade.
There are many hotels near Römer with great views of the city including Jumeirah Frankfurt. This high-rise building features panoramas of the city. Hilton Frankfurt also features views of the city and will cost slightly less. Another option is the pricier but much nicer INNSIDE Frankfurt Eurotheum.
Staying near Römer is a smart move because you can walk to the historic attractions in old town Frankfurt. You do not have to deal with parking, or hail a cab to get to your destinations. There are also plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area so you can walk to dinner, or stroll the neighborhood and enjoy a coffee after a day of sight-seeing.
The building is not generally open to the public because it's used for a number of city government purposes. Most visitors simply take in the sight of the unique architecture and have their pictures taken at one several other nearby historic buildings.
