More About Garden Grove, CA Hotels...

Should You Visit During the Strawberry Festival?

Memorial Day in Garden Grove features the popular Strawberry Festival, the largest community-based event in the western United States. This period probably isn't the best time to visit, though. Since Garden Grove is conveniently located less than a mile from Disneyland, seven miles from Knott's Berry Farm, and nine miles from local beaches, the city will most likely be filled with a large amount of traveling families during the event.

The best time to book a hotel cheaply in the city would be when children are back in school during the months of September through May, and you should avoid long weekends as those are also peak times for travel. Availability of private rentals will also be higher during those months, and you should avoid the peak travel months of the summer (July and August).

Travel For Business and Then Extend Your Stay

Since Garden Grove is 10 miles from John Wayne Airport and close to Los Angeles, it is an ideal place for business travelers to come for work and then extend their stay for pleasure. Consider staying in the newly formed "Grove District - Anaheim Resort" at one of these affordable hotels: Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove, Sheraton Garden Grove-Anaheim South, or the Anaheim Marriott Suites. There is no need for a rental car at these properties. Public transportation is available, including a new trolley system that runs along Harbor Boulevard, thereby connecting you to local shopping and dining as well as other popular landmarks.

Things to Do In The City for Cheap

Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, you still want to save some money. Fortunately, there are several things you can do in the city for cheap. Options include making a wish in the Civic Center Library fountain, watching the ducks at the Civic Center Pond, singing karaoke in the Crooner's Lounge at Azteca Mexican Restaurant on Historic Main Street, biking or hiking the longest street (Lampson Avenue) in Garden Grove. You can also walk the shortest block in Garden Grove (Main Street South of Century Boulevard) or enjoy French, Chinese, and Vietnamese specialties at Tiem Banh Van's Bakery.

Look for That Small Town Feel

The Econo Lodge Inn And Suites places you in the heart of Garden Grove near Main Street, offering you the feel of a small town where you can grab a bite at the local deli or enjoy a car show every Friday night. It is also close to the Twin Lakes Recreation Park, which offers wilderness and nature activities, ideal for hiking or exploring. Whether you stay at the Econo Lodge or other inexpensive lodging, experiencing all Garden Grove has to offer is easy!

Rent Your Style of Room or House

There are over 600 different options using Airbnb to find a room or house to rent in the Garden Grove area, with several being close to downtown Garden Grove, Main Street, and the Grove District. Prices range from $45 to $1,000 a night, depending on the type of lodging and location.

Experience Family Fun in Garden Grove

Warm temperatures and world-class attractions beckon travelers to visit California’s Garden Grove. Affordable lodgings, however, keep them coming back each year. Take advantage of many budget-friendly hotels (like the Best Western in Garden Grove or the Garden Grove Ramada) to experience this Pacific destination.

For Low Hotel Rates, Visit in Fall or Winter

When trying to book cheap motels in Garden Grove guests should remember that this is a center of West Coast travel, with a never-ending tourist season. Secure a room in advance to receive the best available views and discounts. Consider visiting during the late fall (September and October) and mid-winter (January) as well. These months usually offer fewer visitors and drastically reduced rates.

Buses and Shuttles Give Easy Access to SoCal Attractions

Within mere miles of the city’s most affordable hotels (like the Hilton Garden Inn) is a wealth of attractions. The city boasts quick access to Disneyland, the Crystal Cathedral, the Los Angeles Stadium of Anaheim, Knott’s Berry Farm, and much more.

Navigating the Orange County area is easy, with Garden Grove providing both reliable public transportation (buses offer direct routes to most major attractions) and several car rental agencies. Some hotels, like the Garden Grove Sheraton, even feature private shuttles for added convenience.
