The Moana Surfrider A Westin Resort Spa is a Timeless Beauty

What Do the Rooms Include?

The hotel is spread out over multiple buildings, making it one of the largest Honolulu hotels available. Rooms vary from building to building, but most of them come with similar amenities. All rooms come with hotel branded mattresses and bedding, branded spa products in the bathroom, one 32" LCD TV with cable channels and on-demand movies,  refrigerators, and granite baths.  Some rooms offer branded complimentary coffee and tea to help make a morning pleasant. Suites come with everything mentioned but have two LCD TVs in 32" and 42" sizes. Some rooms offer views of the beach and Pacific Ocean. ADA compliant rooms are available.

Rooms start at $408 for a room with a partial ocean view and go up to $1194 for a suite with ocean view in the Diamond Head tower. Cheap hotels in Honolulu might be available, but none with the amenities and location the Westin provides.

What's There to do Nearby?

Oahu has a variety of tours that include sightseeing the island, seeing Pearl Harbor, helicopter tours, and day trips to neighboring islands. A visit to Hawaii isn't complete without going to a luau or watching traditional Polynesian dance shows. Expand ones knowledge of the Hawaiian natives with a trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center. For those who want to participate in physical activities, there are surfing lessons, snorkeling, and Catamaran trips to make the most out of the ocean. Land-based activities include golf and hiking. Water cruises take guests out to the beautiful waters of the Pacific.

What's the Bottom Line?

The Moana Surfrider embraces the beauty of Hawaii, making guests feel as if they are part of one of the most gorgeous places on Earth. The atmosphere is laid back and it's hard to do anything other than relax during a stay, especially when hearing the waves at night. Staff work hard to take care of guests by seeing to everything right down to the smallest of details. Housekeeping is excellent and property maintenance is on top of everything. The hotel itself is a perfect blend of history and modern, centering itself around the original property from 1901, then seamleslly branching out to later buildings. Hotels in Honolulu offer a little bit of paradise, but the Westin caters to its guest on a personalized, individual level.

This Waikiki Grand Dame is beloved for its historic charm and relaxed vibe. The dozens of rocking chairs lining its sleepy porch have consumed many a holiday, and the Moana Lani Spa,...
As Waikiki's first hotel, the 1901 plantation-style oceanfront Moana Surfrider offers a dose of historic charm on one of the nicest -- albeit most congested -- stretches of Waikiki Beach.
"Sip high tea on the veranda" of this "beautifully maintained" beachfront "legend", and be sure to "snag a rocking chair" on the porch to soak up the "gracious" "old-style Hawaii" ambiance.
