The Equus Hotel: An Equestrian-Inspired Hotel in Honolulu

What Do the Rooms Include?

Staying at the Equus Hotel means you will only be a few miles away from the world-famous Waikiki Beach. This boutique hotel has 67 stylish guest rooms arranged over 10 floors. All units are adorned with traditional equestrian design and dark wood furniture. Each room is thoughtfully decorated in Ralph Lauren polo-inspired furnishings and photographs. A few rooms like the bamboo queen, city view king, and the deluxe king accommodate a balcony that overlooks the city.

In-room amenities include pillow top beds with handmade Italian duvet comforters, flat screen TVs, coffee maker with free organic coffee and tea, and mid-size refrigerator. Some rooms also have a balcony or lanai.

What Amenities are Available?

A small outdoor pool is available for refreshing and renewing. From April to August, you can also head to the North Shore of Oahu to experience a beach getaway at the Equus family-run Hawaii Polo Club. Guests at the hotel can receive exclusive benefits like complimentary admission passes to attend polo matches, free transportation, and a free table at the clubhouse tent.

How Much Will a Stay at Equus Hotel Cost Me?

The Equus Hotel averages about $129 USD a night. A few hotels in the area like The Ambassador Waikiki and Kuhio Banyan Hotel offer rooms starting from $99 USD a night, which is relatively cheaper. If you’re looking for a more luxurious stay, choose Honolulu hotels such as Trump International or the Royal Hawaiian, which offer rooms starting from $250 USD a night.

What’s the Bottom Line?

With the public bus stop located at the property, you'll find no trouble getting around the city. Plus, there is also a Waikiki trolley line just across the street. The hotel does not have an onsite restaurant, but there are many eateries close by. Compared to other hotels, the Equus is not only situated in a prime location, but also offers complimentary services and activities as well as comfortable rooms at affordable prices.
