The best thing to do in Bellaire is to eat! Chinatown is on the Bellaire Boulevard and is your one-stop shop for anything Asian. Walk the boulevard and find everything from Sichuan cuisine to Shanghai-style dumplings, steaming bowls of pho to crunchy spring rolls. You'll find no end of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai gems in this region. To get out of town, the METRO Park & Ride takes you direct to Downtown Houston.
To stay in Bellaire, head first to Airbnb to browse for apartments. Hotels are scarce in the Bellaire district, while Airbnb remains very affordable. Some hotel options include the National at Marquis at Bellaire, or Bellaire Inn. Otherwise, it's best to stay near The Galleria, in Candlewood Suites Houston By The Galleria, HYATT house Houston Galleria or Comfort Inn & Suites Southwest Fwy at Westpark.
Art is a big part of life in Bellaire with the Spring Fair in Bellaire and the Fall Arts Festival taking place every April and October. At these events, you can find craft stalls that attract almost 5,000 visitors while over 200 artists turn up to display their handmade products on Bellaire Boulevard. To save money on accommodation, avoid visiting during those times of year and instead opt to visit during the winter. Houston's oppressive heat isn't so intense, and the neighborhoods will be far quieter too.
