More About Hotels near Terry Hershey Park...

Stay Fit and Healthy on Your Vacation

Terry Hershey Park has something for everyone. Certain areas of the park contain wide open spaces, where you can take a picnic, play some soccer, or sunbathe on the hills. Other areas include shaded walking trails protected from the noises and exhaust fumes of the nearby traffic. One particular highlight is Terry Hershey Park Anthills, a must-visit for trail runners. Featuring hills and corners on dirt tracks, this nine mile trail is an enjoyable experience while still remaining a challenge.

For a budget stay close to Terry Hershey Park, look at staying at Homewood Suites Houston West Energy Corridor, Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor, or Omni Houston Hotel Westside. For something more upmarket, take a look at Holiday Inn Houston Energy Corridor Eldridge or Hilton Garden Inn Houston Energy Corridor.

Transport to downtown Houston is inexpensive from Terry Hershey Park, with METRO offering a Park & Ride service in nearby Addicks. While you'll be surrounded by plenty of greenery in Terry Hershey Park, you'll still be staying close to the Energy Corridor, where traffic can build up easily. Aim to avoid this by going for walks in the park during rush hour times, or by spending those times in Downtown Houston.

Everything You Could Possibly Need

There are plenty of facilities for visitors to the park -- drinking fountains at every mile (including water fountains for dogs!), restrooms, parking on Memorial Drive; exercise stations, too. For wildlife lovers, you can spot opossums, owls, raccoons, armadillos, snakes, lizards, squirrels, rabbits and occasionally even coyotes. Aim to visit during the week if possible, where the park is a lot less busy. The loop that goes around Mayde Creek from the I-10 to Buffalo Bayou is a good starting place for explorations and is lit up during evening hours.
