Picture livestock demonstrations. What about public ice skating? Perhaps you’re there for a convention or meeting? Oh, I get it, you’re there watching the Indy Fuel hockey game or the IUPUI Men’s Basketball event. The Coliseum itself draws a big crowd with concerts too. The fairgrounds have hosted over 115 state fairs since 1892.
Stone Soup Inn and the Sleep Inn and Suites Conference Center are inexpensive. The Hilton Garden Inn Indianapolis, the Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis, and Candlewood Suites Inn Downtown Medical cost a bit more but are nice places to stay.
Since there aren’t many hotels near the fairgrounds, those closest tend to book early. But if you do find one, reserve it immediately. Most hotels are four to five miles away from the fairgrounds.
It’s $5 per car to park. There are 18,000 total parking spaces. There’s full hook-up at the campground for $30 per night including electric and water. You can’t bring any food into the fairgrounds or helium/mylar balloons. Wi-Fi and ATM machines are available.
