Imeson Field, previously known as the Jacksonville Imeson Airport, served as the Jacksonville area's airport from 1927 to 1968. In 1970, after the Jacksonville International Airport opened, Imeson Field transformed into an industrial park. There are several budget-friendly options within a three-minute drive of the Imeson Industrial Park clustered near the Highland Square shopping center and I-95. Buses run daily and cost $1.50 per ride.

Free Brewery Tours

The Anheuser-Busch brewery in Imeson Industrial Park offers free guided tours and beer tastings. Open to the public all year, tours are offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Tours happen daily, except during the winter months (September through May) when the brewery closes to the public on Wednesdays. 

Near Imeson Field, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens offers children the chance to feed giraffes and groom pygmy goats. The zoo is a five- to 10-minute drive from area hotels and on-site parking is free. The River City Marketplace, north of Imeson Field along I-95, is the largest shopping center in north Jacksonville. With more than 73 retail stores, 12 anchor tenants, a movie theater, and several restaurants, shoppers are sure to find their perfect souvenir at this outdoor shopping complex.
