What’s the Audubon House?

The Audubon House is full of history and local lore. Within its walls and lush gardens, you will find yourself traveling back in time to the early 1800s. The home was built by Captain John Hilling Geiger in 1846, with his family residing there for the next few generations. It was renamed the Audubon House after a major restoration in the late 1950s to commemorate artist John James Audubon’s visit to Key West in 1832.

There are also guided tours available. For true Audubon fans, it should be noted that John Audubon did not actually live in the home.
