Convenient, Upscale Location in the Heart of London

A Central Location Without the Noise

Do you want to stay in Central London but outside the London Congestion Zone? Look no further than the Hilton London Metropole, a property that has been recently refurbished to guarantee its place among the highest end hotels in the area. Its amenities are now on the cutting edge, meeting virtually all the needs of every possible traveler.

This property is perfectly located for travelers, as several popular tourist attractions are located within 10 minutes of the Hilton London Metropole. The West End, Oxford Street, and Marble Arch are all within walking distance. Shoppers can take the Tube to London Westfield Shopping Centre, a ten minute ride away from the hotel.  Also, a five minute trip to Paddington Station enables guests to access Heathrow Express rail service to Heathrow Airport. The entire trip should take approximately 20 minutes.

Notting Hill Is More Than Just a Julia Roberts Movie

Take the Tube to Notting Hill, which is less than ten minutes away. This trendy area of London offers some of the best shopping and dining experiences in England. Guests who visit in August can enjoy the Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s most popular street festival. Also, if you are a huge fan of the movie, there is even a Notting Hill Tour presented by Brit Movie Tours.

Travelers who are not movie buffs still have plenty to do in the area. The Tube provides quick transportation to Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London to study the seminal historical landmarks of England. Otherwise, enjoy the touristy entertainment such as studying the wax figures at Madame Tussauds, enjoying a Shakespearean play at the Globe Theater, or take a ride on the London Eye. Museum fans will have plenty of options at the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and British Museum. Use a currency calculator app to determine the cost of the various entertainment options.

The Hotel Is Its Own Tourist Trap

There are plenty of options at the Hilton London Metropole itself. Fiamma Restaurant provides exquisite international cuisine with a Mediterranean flair. Minako at the Met serves Asian fusion dishes, but the real highlight is the breathtaking city view provided from the 23rd floor locale.

If you are thirsty but not so hungry, the Whisky Lounge in the lobby serves innumerable potent potables. The whisky tasting here is top-notch, especially if wine tasting is too aristocratic for you. Finally, if you just want to watch the footy match, head to the straightforwardly named Sports Bar, which serves food, drinks, and all the sporting events of the day.

Enjoy the Hilton Lifestyle

Guest rooms at the Hilton London Metropole feature a flat screen LCD TV, a work desk, and a tea and coffee maker. Bathrobe and slippers are available upon request. Upgrade to a suite in order to enjoy panoramic views from higher floors plus Executive Lounge access including complimentary continental breakfast.

Bottom Line

This deluxe hotel is cheaper than some of its competitors yet there are concerns about whether it provides enough bang for the buck. Many such complaints were addressed with the recent comprehensive renovation.
