What do I need to Know About the The Standard Downtown LA?

The Standard Downtown LA raises the bar in hotel hospitality, style, and luxury like no other. Offering the famous bar, The Rooftop, guests are given the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent, panoramic view of Downtown LA, and even the mountains in the distance. A heated swimming pool, dance floor, nightly DJs, bar, outdoor fireplace, and Biergarten are all offered at The Rooftop, allowing you to live it up like the movie stars. Since Los Angeles doesn’t sleep, neither does The Standard. Room service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On-site fitness facilities are also open for use by hotel guests, day and night.

Where is it Located?

The Standard is located right in the heart of Downtown LA, and just 12 miles from LAX Airport, so you can be in your room relaxing after a long flight after a mere 20 minute taxi ride (traffic permitting). Alternatively, you can use the metro to evade traffic jams. A five-minute walk will land you at the 7th Street Metro Center Station, which gives you an all access pass to “The City of Lights.” The Staples Center and Dodger Stadium are both within a 15 minute walk, making this a prime location for all your event needs.

What are the Rooms and Rates Like?

There are many different rooms to choose from, ranging in size from the 300-square-foot Medium, beginning at $187 per night, to the 915-square-foot Big Penthouse, starting at $390. The beautiful beds are appointed with Egyptian Cotton linens, down pillows, and luxurious duvet. All rooms include free WiFi, extra long work desks, and massive windows to let in all the California sun. The bathrooms are large and open, offering plush bathrobes, and massive oversized bath towels. You can even bring your pet along to enjoy the life of luxury!

What's the Bottom Line?

Essentially, this is the ideal hotel for those with hipster tendencies who want to mingle with like-minded crowds. If you’re in town for a major sporting event, this is an incredibly convenient choice that will save you time and money.

Expert Reviews
Built in 1955 as Standard Oil's company's headquarters, the building was completely revamped under the sharp eye of owner André Balazs, giving it a sleeky, cutting-edge feel.
Former oil company HQ. Rooms come in 10 sizes with hot stereos, giant TVs and some with transparent showers, so bring a conservative Christian friend and start snapping pics.
