Universal Studios is a sprawling complex that includes a theme park, Studio Tour, and Universal CityWalk®. The theme park offers rides and attractions based on some of your favorite films, ranging from King Kong and Jurassic Park, to Despicable Me and the Fast & The Furious. The Studio Tour takes you on a tour of Universal’s enormous backlot, while Universal CityWalk® is the area’s premiere entertainment, shopping, and dining destination.
The Sheraton Universal Hotel and Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City are two mid-range hotels that offer views of the theme park. Affordable hotels near Universal Studios Hollywood include The Tilt Hotel and El Royale Hotel Near Universal Studios Hollywood. For more upscale accommodation, consider The Garland. The family friendly boutique hotel offers a free shuttle to Universal Studios.
Universal Studios is an all-in-one destination. Visitors staying nearby have access to shopping, dining, and a movie theater at Universal CityWalk®. Hollywood Blvd and other popular attractions around Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and central LA are all within a 20-25 minute drive. However, getting to the beach from the Universal area takes about 45 minutes. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is also more than half an hour away.
Tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood are available online. The best time to visit the park is in the middle of the week. Not only are mid-week general admission passes usually cheaper, but the theme park is also less crowded. If you want to avoid waiting in line for rides altogether, consider buying Front of Line passes or the VIP Experience.
