Your ABode Away From Home in Manchester City Centre

A Rustic Building With Contemporary Furnishings

From the outside, the ABode Manchester* has the appearance of a historical building, as well it should. It was completed in 1898 as a Victorian cotton merchant's warehouse. The hotel balances the building's period character with modern furnishings that make the rooms and community areas seem a little more like home.

FABulous Suites For Discerning Travelers

The ABode's entire fifth floor is dedicated to its "FABulous on Fifth" collection of private suites. The suites emulate the style of modern loft living among period accents such as ironwork columns, exposed beams, and polished parquet flooring. The suites are decorated in luxurious, modern fashion with plenty of seating, a super-king Vi-Spring bed, and modern art on the walls that includes works by Yoko Ono, David Hockney, and others. It is possible to reserve every suite on the floor for exclusive use.

Other room options at the ABode include the Comfortable, Desirable, and Enviable level rooms. Comfortable rooms include amenities like a Vi-spring bed, secondary glazed windows for better sound and heat insulation, a LCD TV with DVD player, and complimentary in-room WiFi. Upgrading to the Desirable room offers a larger space with a larger bed and a waterfall shower in the bathroom. The Enviable rooms all offer different features. All of them are thoroughly furnished, some with full sitting areas, to give your room the full comfort and uniqueness of a home.

Fine Dining For Cheap

There are two dining options on the ABode Manchester menu. The hotel is home to Michael Caines' Manchester restaurant. Michael Caines is an unforgettable wine and fine dining experience that is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. The other eatery at the ABode is the Cafe Bar & Grill. This restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. and has a wide variety of meals to choose from. The hotel also offers 24 hour room service to its guests.

Explore Manchester

From the ABode's central location in Manchester, you can visit many fun and historical places nearby. Affleck's Palace and the Arndale Centre have plenty of opportunities for shopping. If you'd rather take in the sights, the Manchester Art Gallery and Manchester Palace Theatre are both culturally important buildings nearby.

The Bottom Line

Getting a room at the ABode is like renting out a room at a fine loft apartment for the night.

Time Out
The Abode chain has successfully made its modern mark on this Grade II-listed warehouse while retaining many original features, including the walnut and wrought-iron staircase.
Michelin Guide
Late Victorian cotton merchant's former head office with iron columns and girders still in situ. Relaxed boutique ambience with modern, trendy, open-plan rooms and stylish bathrooms.
