Fodor's
Set in the heart of St. Kilda's café, bar, and club precinct, Tolarno Hotel was once owned by artists who ran a gallery out of the space, and it still has an idiosyncratic artistic bent.
Lonely Planet
Tolarno was once the site of Georges Mora’s seminal gallery, Tolarno. The fine-dining restaurant downstairs now bears the name of his artist wife Mirka, as well as her original paintings.
Don't book a room at the front of the hotel if you're a light sleeper.
Travel + Leisure
This St Kilda hotel features a prime location about five minutes walk from the beach as well as brightly colored rooms and public spaces decorated with original artwork by local artists,...
Guests with an aversion to noise would be well advised to avoid the rooms with balconies overlooking Fitzroy Street, which is home to great cafes and bars that keep going well into the wee hours.
