The flour mill was once the largest in the world, capable of producing enough flour to make 12 million loaves of bread daily. The history of Minneapolis is on display here, while the 9th floor observational deck overlooks the Mississippi River. Tickets ($9 for adults and $6 for children) are available at the museum, but travelers wanting a guided group tour should book in advance. Mill City Museum is found among other cultural attractions and popular restaurants on the waterfront.
There are many hotel options for travelers near the museum's riverfront location. The trendy Aloft Minneapolis hotel and the luxurious all-suite Residence Inn at The Depot are both within a five-minute walk. Additionally, many hotels near the Mill City Museum offer stunning views of the Mississippi River, St. Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge from some of their rooms.
