If you are planning to visit Cal State University Monterey Bay, there are a number of cheap hotels nearby. Many of these hotels are located just north of the campus near the Monterey Marina.

Though more than 33 percent of the university’s student body comes from the local areas of Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties, certain times of the year can be very crowded. Commencement weekend, taking place in mid-May, is perhaps the busiest weekend of the year. If you are visiting around that time, be sure to book a hotel or other accommodations well in advance.
