What is the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts? 

Behind its Grecian-like pillars lie over 500 000 pieces of diverse artwork from ancient times to present day. Notable names such as Cezanne, Monet, Picasso, Botticelli, Rembrandt and Van Gogh can be seen here - to name a few. Despite being named after the famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, the building itself has no connection to the poet. It was originally called the Alexander III Museum. In 1937, it was renamed on the 100th anniversary of Pushkin's death.
