Warm and Welcoming Rooms

Relax in guest rooms furnished with dark wood furniture and warm tones of red and orange. Enjoy a refreshment any time in your room with a complimentary minibar stocked with soda, still or sparkling water, and beer. A Superior Room gives the same comfort in more space. Upgrading to a Privilege Room offers more amenities such as additional bath products, bathrobes, daily newspaper, espresso machine, and a docking station for your phone or MP3 player.

Mornings at this Mercure City Center hotel provide a buffet breakfast of Bavarian specialties for a small surcharge. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace during fair weather or delivered to your room for no extra charge. In the afternoon and evening, The Mercure's restaurants serve regional and international dining.

Visit the Open Air Ice Rink in Karlsplatz - Stachus

The Mercure is within walking distance of Munich's central areas of shopping and tourism. Start in Marienplatz, where you can see Munich's New City Hall and the famous Glockenspiel. After a short walk down Kaufingerstrasse, Munich's main shopping avenue with all kinds of stores and restaurants, you'll arrive in Karlsplatz, which the locals prefer to call Stachus. In the winter, you can ice skate in front of the beautiful gothic gate known as the Karlstor.

Other attractions in the area include Theresienwiese (the grounds for the world-famous Oktoberfest), the Deutsches Theater, the German Hunting and Fishing Museum, the State Collection of Antiquities, and the German Brewery Museum. If you're interested in visiting areas further from the hotel, simply walk to the main train station and hitch a ride to anywhere in Germany.

The Bottom Line

This hotel has a great location with access to all the sights Munich has to offer. It is definitely worth the cheap cost per night for this 4-star hotel.
