Myrtle Beach State Park encompasses about a mile of Grand Stand beach and includes a camping area. The park has hiking trails, picnic areas, and a fishing pier, one of the area's biggest draws. The campground has over 350 campsites.
Visitors who would rather stay in a hotel instead of camping near the beach can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean from Bluegreen Vacations Seaglass Tower. Atlantica Resort is right on the beach so guests can step outside for some fresh sea air. Bayview Resort is right on the Boardwalk with balconies overlooking the ocean with views of the SkyWheel.
Staying at a hotel near Myrtle Beach State Park is a great choice for visitors who want to spend time at the beach and be within walking distance of hiking trails and the pier. The park is near the airport so keep in mind that you'll see and hear a lot of low-flying planes during the day.
The park is open from March through November until 10 p.m. and until 8 p.m. December through February. The entrance fee is $5 for adults, $3 for children. The park features playgrounds and offers nature programs for the whole family.
