Nashville is an amazing city with a vibrant downtown scene along Broadway. In addition to the large number of honky-tonk bars the street is known for, there are also several nearby venues such as the Ryman Auditorium, former home of the Grand Ole Opry, and the Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators NHL team. Bridgestone Arena is one of the busiest arenas in Tennessee, and it is Nashville's leading venue for musical productions. As a result of all the activities and events located in downtown Nashville, sometimes finding nearby lodging can be rather difficult, with nightly rates fluctuating often.

More About Hotels near Bridgestone Arena...

Most Popular Time of the Year

The winter and spring months are the busiest times of the year for hotels in downtown Nashville. Prices are at their peak and hotels can become fully booked months in advance, making it more difficult to find cheap lodging options. The Capitol Hotel is often overlooked by visitors and often has both the last-minute availability and competitive pricing that other nearby hotels lack. A room here will set you back around $150 regardless of the time of year.

Best Time of Year to Visit

The summer and early autumn months are the least expensive times of the year to visit Nashville without having to sacrifice on entertainment. Hotel rooms tend to be cheaper and more plentiful May through August. Finding a room under $100 per night should not be a problem, and most everywhere except the upper tier luxury hotels can be found for less than $200 per night. As an added bonus, the weather is much more enjoyable and there is no shortage of things to do around town, especially when it comes to musical performances. The CMT and CMA Awards also both take place in downtown Nashville every summer. Nashville's nickname is Music City, and that is one reputation it really lives up to.

Don't Forget the Hotel Alternatives

Airbnb is also an excellent choice for finding cheap hotel alternatives in Nashville or last-minute accommodations. Regardless of the time of year, there are almost always options in or near the downtown area ranging from single rooms to full-fledged apartments fit for a family. A nice room for a single individual or traveling couple can most often be found for less than $100 per night, with rentals geared towards families found for not much more than that.

For the solo traveler, or those who are more budget conscious, there is one hostel located downtown, the aptly named Nashville Downtown Hostel. The place is a popular choice because it's a monopoly of the Broadway hostel scene. The hostel rarely fills up completely because there are 180 beds, so last-minute travelers should consider this a possible candidate. Expect to pay $30 to $35 for a dorm room with private suites starting at around $100.

Hockey Season

For those visiting Nashville specifically to catch a Predators game, the hockey season runs from September to early April, which also happens to coincide with the peak season for all the hotels near the Bridgestone Arena. Grand Avenue, a Nashville transportation company, provides transportation to the Bridgestone Arena so you can easily get to the Predators game. Besides being home to regular hockey games, there are Christmas-themed performances every December, and the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus make an annual trip every January. There is also a multitude of musical artists that perform shows at the arena, not just during the Predators season, but throughout the year. Don't forget to see what other events are going on around the same time and make the most of your vacation to Music City.

Regardless of the time of year, it is possible to find cheap accommodations in Nashville, if you know where to look.
