More About Hotels near Tulane University...

Sports Fans Can Choose from a Wide Variety of Options Near Campus

Crescent Palms Motel at $69 is one of your cheapest options, situated about halfway between Tulane’s campus and the New Orleans Museum of Art in Mid-City. A more convenient, though somewhat more expensive option could be looking into some of the sophisticated Airbnb options* surrounding Oak Street west of Tulane. While you might pay more for the trendier accommodations, you’ll save on transportation since the St. Charles streetcar passes right by Tulane as it heads back toward the French Quarter. An Airbnb room in Uptown should run you between $60 and $80, while an entire apartment could run you closer to $150. If strolling among the renowned Uptown mansions doesn’t seem worth it to you for the price, reconsider Mid-City to check out Midtown Hotel, a cost-saver starting at $42.

Diehard Tourists Have Hotel and Airbnb Options in the French Quarter

You can stay near Jackson Square and eat Café Du Monde’s powdery beignets to your heart’s content and still make it back over to Tulane in time for the game, since it is less than five miles away. Your most reasonably priced hotel option would be the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street, starting at $95. Keep in mind that there are some amazing Airbnb options directly on Jackson Square and on the French Quarter’s most famous streets like Decatur, Iberville, and Chartres. While these Airbnb options are more expensive than the Marriott, you may want to treat yourself since you’re already insisting on staying in the heart of the action.

Central Business District is Cheaper than the French Quarter

Be advised that you should consider avoiding the French Quarter if you are on a tighter budget, especially during Mardi Gras or the New Orleans Jazz Festival. A great alternative would be to check out your options in neighboring Central Business District. You’d save some money without being too far away from the sights, and you’ll be closer to some great museums in this artsy part of town. Renaissance New Orleans Art Hotel and Le Pavillon are both great options starting at just under $120.

Each Neighborhood Has its Own Charm

Getting to Tulane is easy thanks to the buses, taxis, and comprehensive streetcar system. While the most convenient lodgings are in Uptown or near Magazine Street in the Garden district in an Airbnb for under $150, you’ll still get to the game on time if you stay farther east. After all, the musician in your group might suggest Grenoble House on Dauphine, reasonably priced at $159 in order to check out the music scene in Treme. Thanks to the manageable size of the city, you might accommodate that request, because you understand that New Orleans offers something to make everyone in your party happy.
