What’s Niagara SkyWheel?

The Niagara SkyWheel is a giant Ferris wheel that measures 175 feet in height. It sits in Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, Ontario, and opened to the public on June 17, 2006. Its designer was Ronald Bussink Professional Rides, and Chance Morgan engineered and supplied the finished project. The estimated construction cost was $10 million. It consists of 42 passenger cars that are fully enclosed. Each car holds up to eight people and is heated during the winter and air-conditioned in the summer. The glass enclosures provide views of the surrounding area. The SkyWheel opens at 12 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m on the weekends throughout the year. Each ride lasts between eight and twelve minutes.
