Historic Hotel in the Heart of Oslo

Stay in a Hotel with 140 Years of Excellence

The Grand Hotel Oslo is a feast for the eyes in the classic European tradition. The elegant façade and public areas harken back to a time of privileged travel. Now the Grand Hotel Oslo is accessible to everyone and the rates are affordable, particularly during the late winter months.

Guests will enjoy the indoor pool and the hotel's award-winning Artesia spa. The hotel created this space as a respite for its guests and limits the number of children in the pool to four at any given time. Diving and jumping are not permitted. Taking the waters is serious business.

Enjoy Unique Accommodations

The hotel offers 292 hotel rooms and 54 suites. Decorated with clean modern design elements, the rooms keep much of their original charm without being outdated.

While the standard rooms are spacious and stylish, the suites offer unique designs for the discriminating guest. The living areas of the top suites spill out onto their lovely balconies, the perfect spot from which to watch the intriguing Oslo spring to life each morning. The romantic tower suite encompasses three floors of this grand hotel and offers unparalleled views.

The Grand Hotel reaches out to women travelers and offers a boutique hotel for them inside the larger one. An entire floor, thirteen rooms, is designated women-only and caters to their needs. Special touches include additional security, yoga mats, fresh fruit, magazines, books, and wellness products. Prominent Norwegian women designed each of the thirteen rooms and the decor reflects each of their distinct personalities. A vacation on the women's floor is akin to staying in the guest room of a close Norwegian friend.

In the Heart of It All

The Grand Hotel is in the heart of central Oslo. It is mere steps from Karl Johans gate, a bustling street filled with boutiques and cafés, prominent attractions, and the annual Oslo Christmas Market. Because of the hotel's close proximity to this area and the Royal Palace, Parliament, National Theater, and nearby City Hall and Akershus Castle, there is no need to rent a car. Like most European cities, Oslo is pedestrian-friendly.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for an elegant, luxurious home base as you explore Oslo, the Grand Hotel is perfect. From its charming historic appeal to the staff's dedication to each guest's experience, the Grand Hotel lives up to its name.
