Luxury Accommodations in the Heart of Downtown Ottawa

Downtown Canalside Lodging Choice

The Fairmont Chateau Laurier is only a short hop away from Ottawa International Airport. After following Airport Parkway/Bronson Avenue, turn onto Colonel By Drive, and follow to Rideau Street. Your 11-mile trip should take you less than 20 minutes.

Ideal for Fitness Activities and Business Conferences

Energetic hotel guests have many appealing exercise options. The adjacent Rideau Canal offers winter ice skating and spring/summer inline skating and bicycle paths. Nearby, you'll find hiking and mountain biking when it's warmer, and cross-country and downhill skiing during winter. Inside the hotel, refresh yourself in the lap pool, or enjoy a Health Club workout. Meeting organizers appreciate 36,000 square feet of meeting space, including function rooms, a Business Center, and four ballrooms. The Fairmont's Wedding Specialist can create a memorable wedding for any size guest list.

Nicely Appointed Luxury Lodging Choices

Select a comfortable Standard Room, or choose a Deluxe Room with separate seating. Six Suite options, including Executive and Presidential Suites, are available. Fairmont Gold Rooms and Suites cater to guests desiring finer amenities. Eight specially equipped guestrooms accommodate physically challenged visitors. Connecting rooms are available, and children 18 and under stay free in the parent's/guardian's room with the same bedding. Guests enjoy premium bedding, bathrobes, and Keurig coffeemakers. Wired and wireless Internet are available for a fee. Dogs or cats under 20 pounds welcome.

Hipmunk Staff Review

The Fairmont and nearby Lord Elgin Hotel both cater to upscale clienteles, although the Fairmont has two advantages. While the Lord Elgin offers one luxurious Suite option, the Fairmont offers six differently configured choices. Although the Lord Elgin's 13,000 square feet of meeting space accommodates many business needs, large conference and convention planners may prefer the Fairmont's expansive 36,000 square feet of space.

Turreted 1912 limestone grande dame-popular with foreign dignitaries-in the political epicenter, next to the National Gallery of Canada and ByWard Market.
Rough Guide
Keen to impress, the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway built this prestige hotel in the 1910s and it remains Ottawa’s finest, comprising a wonderful example of the French Renaissance.
If you're looking for luxury, tradition, and attentive service, this is the place to stay -- royalty and celebrities have always been attracted to the Château Laurier's graceful beauty.
