More About Hotels near Woodcrest...

The Former Woodcrest Estate

Wealthy Philadelphia businessman James W. Paul Jr. built the Woodcrest Estate Mansion between 1901 and 1903. The 51-room home incorporates architectural styles from 15th, 16th, and 17th century England, but is primarily considered a Tudor-style building.  It was a private home for many years, used to host high society weddings and social events. The building also served as a religious orphanage for several decades before becoming the home of Cabrini Women's College, where it is still a centerpiece of the campus. In 2009 the house was named to the National Register of Historic Places.

While Woodcrest is still used for college functions and administration, tours of the house are not available to the public. The best way to see the Mansion is to attend a wedding here. The Mansion can accommodate up to 200 guests for drinking, dining, and dancing.

Far From Downtown Philadelphia

Visitors to Wayne often come to visit Cabrini College or attend a wedding at Woodcrest. The small residential community is a far suburb of Philadelphia, and it takes nearly an hour to get to the city's downtown attractions.  Wayne does have a number of attractive historic houses and small restaurants for visitors to experience. The neighboring town of King of Prussia has many interesting attractions, including the second largest mall in the country and Valley Forge National Historical Park.

Visitors who choose to stay near Woodcrest will almost certainly need a car. Most attractions and hotels are spread out and not easily accessible via public transportation. Amtrak connects both Wayne and King of Prussia with central Philadelphia.

Budget Hotels in Nearby Suburbs

Visitors to the area have several quality hotel choices. The closest is the Wayne Hotel, just 1.5 miles away from Woodcrest Mansion. Other nearby options include the Radnor Hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Devon, both of which offer no-frills, budget-friendly accommodations.

There are more hotels in the neighboring towns of Valley Forge and King of Prussia. It is worth comparison shopping in those areas to find the best deal.
