The Wilson South House is a historic home in Northwest Portland built in 1929. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Things to do Around Wilson South House

There is always something to do in Portland, and though shopping and dining are both prevalent, there are many outdoor activities too. If nature is your thing and you enjoy getting out for some exercise, the area around Wilson South House is swarming with opportunities. Washington Park is the city’s largest and in it on can find many outdoor events, walking and biking trails as well as the Hoyt Arboretum, Pittock Mansion, the International Rose Test Garden, the Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial and the very popular Oregon Zoo and Portland Children’s Museum. If you’re a soccer lover, the Portland Timbers play during the season at Providence Park, which is just down the street from the Wilson-South House.

Hop on the Portland Streetcar and get to the city’s art and culture district. The downtown area has many great independent art galleries, many of which offer free admission, as well as wine and appetizers, during the first Thursday of every month. It’s a great way to see a lot of local artwork while mingling with other art lovers.
