More About Puerto Vallarta Hotels...

Rain Equates to Cheap Vacation

A popular time to visit Puerto Vallarta is during the spring from April to June. During the spring, the weather is warm, the humidity is bearable and hotel rates are down. However, the ideal time to visit is during the winter months when the temperatures are moderate and humidity is low. Unfortunately, this is also a time when the hotel rates rise. If you can wait to book your hotel until the last minute, this is when you will find a great deal at a local resort. Resorts would rather accept a lower fee than lose money on a room for the night.

June through September, also known as the rainy season, comes with high temperatures, high humidity, and rain every day. However, if you want the best bargain on a vacation to Puerto Vallarta, rainy season is the time to plan your trip. With fewer people to contend with you are more likely to enjoy all the attractions, and you can have a room with a view at a hotel such as the Villa Premiere Hotel and Spa a low price.

Stay Away From the Beach for Cheaper Rates

Most people travel to Puerto Vallarta to spend time in the sun on the beach, but that doesn’t mean your hotel needs to be ocean side. Of course, everyone likes an ocean view, but that comes at a price not everyone wants to pay. Choose a hotel such as Hacienda de Vallarta Las Glorias that is close to shopping, restaurants, and Camarones Beach, yet its rates are far less than hotels on the beach.

Beachfront Hotels

When you chose to travel to Puerto Vallarta it is highly likely that you want to stay at a resort on the beach. However, if you have never visited this city before you probably don’t know where to stay. There are many choices along the beach and the biggest choice you need to make is whether you are going to stay in a standard hotel or an all-inclusive resort. A standard hotel gives you the option to travel around outside of the hotel for all of your meals. On the other hand, an all-inclusive resort includes all the food and drinks you want in the price of your stay.

Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta - All Inclusive is a fantastic choice for an all-inclusive resort. Not only is this resort right on the beach, but it offers several restaurants and bars to choose from. If you prefer golfing over the beach, then check out Casa Velas Luxury Boutique.

Transportation To and From the Airport

Travelers flying into Puerto Vallarta come in through Puerto Vallarta International Airport. The airport is centrally located and within 20-30 minutes from most resorts. Rent a car at the airport and drive yourself around if you like, but the ideal way to travel while in Puerto Vallarta is by taxi cab.

As you exit the main part of the airport, you enter a room with several official taxi cab booths. Go to the window, tell them the hotel where you will be staying and pay a flat fee based on your hotel zone. The attendant will then hand you a slip of paper showing you have paid. Walk straight outside and hand your paid slip to the next available taxi, and you are off to your designated hotel. It is important to note that your fees returning to the airport will be less than you arrival because departure fees are mandated by the airport authorities.

Pretend You Live in Puerto Vallarta By Staying in an Airbnb Rental

Staying at a resort in Puerto Vallarta is always a pleasure, but if you want to experience a different side of the city, try staying in an Airbnb rental. It is the perfect way to stay in a house, buy local food, and cook for yourself. Plus for rates similar to hotels, you can find a large array of Airbnb options in the Puerto Vallarta area.

If you are looking to be downtown and in the center of the action, check out the popular Casa Dona Margarita #5 Downtown PV on the Airbnb website. This is a popular rental with an ocean view and a large rooftop area perfect for entertaining.

Resources for Your Travels in Puerto Vallarta

Unless you are from Mexico, traveling to Puerto Vallarta requires crossing an international border. No matter where you are from, you will need to present a passport to leave the airport or drive across the border. If you are curious about customs or passport requirements in and out of Mexico, a great resource is the Adventure Mexican Insurance Services website (http://www.mexadventure.com/MexicoTravel/Government-Mexico-Travel.cfm).

Do you speak Spanish? If not, there is no need to worry. Most of the people you will interact with at the airport, at resorts, and on the street have a basic knowledge of English. However, there are times when being able to translate signs or instructions that a local gives you is helpful. If you are looking for a quick and easy way to translate, try iTranslate (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itranslate-translator-dictionary/id288113403?mt=8) for Apple or Google Translate (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.translate&hl=en) for Android or for Apple (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-translate/id414706506?mt=8).
