Richmond Mariott: A Hotel in the Heart of Downtown

What do Rooms Include?

Located in downtown Richmond, VA., the Richmond Mariott connects to the convention center, making it ideal for the business traveler. The rooms mix convenience with Southern charm, offering comfortable beds, coffeemakers, daily newspaper, good climate control, premium cable television, and Internet access, for a fee. Bathrooms are slightly on the smaller side. Rooms on the higher floors are both quieter and offer a sparkling view of the city.

What Amenities are Available?

The Richmond Mariott offers much convenience with a skywalk to the Convention Center, and is steps away from the lively downtown. The hotel also has an indoor pool and small fitness center. The stylish lobby is favorite spot to linger, especially near the popular Starbucks corner. The sports bar provides an outdoor fire pit for chilly nights, with food at a good value. The entire hotel is smoke-free.

How Much Will a Stay at the Richmond Mariott Cost Me?

Rooms range from a standard guest room to the larger premium room to the Concierge Room, which offers lounge access and complimentary breakfast and snacks. Prices start at $129 USD and vary widely, going to $340 a night. Keep in mind this is one of Richmond's most centrally located hotels, and availability often depends on the number of conventions in town. Plan accordingly and ask about group rates and off-peak deals. Parking is $17 a day, as is the breakfast buffet, which can add up for longer stays.

What's the Bottom Line?

The Richmond Mariott provides a great location and comfortable rooms for its prices. This is a hotel geared towards large groups and conventions, so it's not the place for a quiet getaway. However, if you are attending one of those conventions, this is a great choice among the Richmond hotels.

Recently renovated, this hotel's lobby is one huge contemporary lounge, with flat-screens, workspaces, an open lobby bar and lounge, and plenty of club seating.
