Top Tier Brazil Beach Hotel With Many Amenities

Best Value for Price in Rio de Janiero

Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana combines rich Brazilian culture with the fine details and quality of French styles. Right on the beach like many other Rio de Janiero lodgings, this Accor brand hotel stands out with an incredible list of property features and amenities that guarantee any guest's satisfaction. Visitors will also be close to Arpoador Beach and a statue of Dorival Caymmi, famous Brazilian artist, singer, and songwriter.

Families can leave younger children in the care of trained babysitters or let the kids spend their extra energy at the pools. If they get too dirty, just wash their clothes at the laundry facility. In fact, there are very few concerns this hotel couldn't meet.

Explore the Beach and Much More

Built in 1997, the property is still fairly young. More importantly, there is so much to do at the Sofitel that you'd have to live there for a month to get bored. Relax at sunset by the pool with a grand view of Sugarloaf Mountain. Hit the steam room or sauna, and then the bar in the evening. There's even a library and computer room for solitary relaxation, a meeting room for business travelers, and wedding services.

The buffet breakfast every morning from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM comes with a small surcharge. For other dining options, there are two restaurants on site, Atlantic and Le pres Catelan. Atlantic serves all meals of the day (even brunch). Le pres Catelan is a dinner-only brasserie overlooking the ocean, with fine linens and professional service.

Relaxing Rooms Near the Brazilian Shore

All guest rooms have premium bedding and access to a laptop-compatible safe. Stand out on the balcony for stellar views of the ocean and mountains. Wireless internet access comes with a small surcharge, but room service is ready to cater to your every whim 24 hours a day.

The Bottom Line

The amenities, location, and staff are where the Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana shines, but there is one weak point: the rooms. While clean and comfortable, guests will be missing out on certain in-room features that other hotels have. The good news is that no hotel in the area provides as much to do outside the rooms.

If you'd rather see another hotel in the area, Caesar Park Rio de Janeiro Ipanema Managed by Sofitel is located along the same beach.

Frommer's
There may be newer, more trendy hotels in town, but when it comes to top-notch service and luxury accommodations, the Sofitel gets it right every time.
Time Out
The Sofitel has the advantage of both the famous stretch of sand book-ended by Sugarloaf to the east as well as the rather cleaner (and busier) waters of Ipanema just a short walk away.
Travel + Leisure
A top pick for business travelers, the Sofitel sits right on the famed Copacabana Beach. Its 388 rooms all have balconies, many with views of the nearby Sugarloaf Mountain. The rooms and...
