Truly in a class of its own is one way of describing the fabulous 5-star Grand Hotel Plaza in Rome. Located in the very heart of the Eternal City, the Grand Plaza is one of the city's most prestigious 5-star hotels. Exuding Roman and historical elegance, and refinement, this Grand Hotel is one of the oldest to be found in Rome. Located just a few steps away from the Spanish Steps, this unique property lies in the very heart of the historical centre and was originally constructed in the mid 1800's as a private residence for a noble Italian family. Now, over 150 years later, and in view of its many exquisite examples of 19th century elegant floral frescoes, spacious public areas, ornate crystal chandeliers and stained glass skylights, the hotel has provided the backdrop for many films requiring a fin-de-siecle (turn-of-the-century) atmosphere. A short description cannot do justice to this unique hotel and, whereas public areas exude historic grace, spacious guestrooms offer a formula of traditional elegance combined with contemporary facilities. Suffice it to say that the Grand Hotel Plaza needs to be seen to be believed!
