“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”
Detour from the University area to explore Hogle Zoo and This Is The Place Heritage Park. Recent renovations at the zoo have upgraded and improved many of the exhibits, including an Asian Highlands area and the new Rocky Shores exhibit. Watch Zuri the elephant swim, get face-to-horn with a rhino, and hop aboard the Hogle Zoo train and the hand-carved carousel. Across the street, This Is The Place features Wild-West-era buildings, museums, a petting corral for the kids, and a legendary local ghost. Actors provide educational historical information and seasonal fun. Drive east up Emigration Canyon for lunch or dinner at Ruth's Diner, or head south on Foothill Drive for more dining and shopping options.
