Stylish, Modern Hotel in Downtown San Diego

Landmark Downtown Hotel

Featuring a unique, modern architectural design, which is now a fixture of San Diego’s skyline, The Westin San Diego is one of the city’s downtown landmark hotels.  Centrally located, the contemporary Westin San Diego is only one block from the city’s famous trolley station and a short stroll from San Diego’s premiere shopping and dining destinations. The Westfield Horton shopping plaza is four blocks away, and the historical Gaslamp Quarter is only six blocks away. For sports enthusiasts, Petco Park, home of San Diego Padres, is a short one-mile drive, and the hotel offers easy access to area beaches.

Amenities for Both Business and Pleasure

Upon entering The Westin San Diego, guests are greeted with a 100-foot tall lobby atrium that’s filled with dazzling colored-glass prisms. The hotel features two immense ballrooms, a 24-hour Westin Workout Fitness Studio, and a relaxing terrace pool.  For business travelers, The Westin also features a business center and multiple meeting rooms. In addition, the hotel provides advanced workspaces known as Tangent centers. Featuring smart technology, wall-to-ceiling white boards, and easy access to advanced audio/visual equipment, Tangent centers supply a space for impromptu business meetings.

The hotel also features a on-site restaurant, Coast, which serves contemporary fusion cuisine and a wide selection of fine wines. In addition to elegant dinners, the restaurant serves open breakfast buffets daily and à la carte breakfast and lunch menus.

Each one of The Westin San Diego’s 436 rooms offers guests a relaxing atmosphere to unwind. Due to the hotel’s unusual rounded architecture, guest rooms do vary in size, but all offer excellent views of either the bay, atrium, or city. For an indulgent night of sleep, guest rooms feature Westin’s signature Heavenly Beds, equipped with lush linens, down cushioning, and pillowtop mattresses. Each standard room also features a 50-inch flat screen television and decorative, custom art. WiFi is also available.

Centrally Located to Shopping, Dining and Entertainment

The Westin Hotel is centrally located, allowing guests to easily explore all San Diego has to offer. Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, you’ll enjoy its proximity to downtown amenities. The nearby Westfield Horton Plaza is a pedestrian-friendly, open-air shopping hub of downtown San Diego. For dining and entertainment options, the Gaslamp Quarter is a cultural hotspot with over 200 acclaimed restaurants, coffee shops, live music venues, and sizzling nightclubs. Set in the backdrop of Victorian-era architecture, the Gaslamp Quarter is perfect for a midday stroll or a night on the town.

The Bottom Line

Catering to both vacationers and business travelers, the four-star hotel is a stylish and well-equipped lodging option in downtown San Diego. Particularly accommodating to business travelers, The Westin offers more business amenities than the nearby Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. However, its central location, wealth of on-site amenities, and luxurious rooms still make The Westin San Diego a viable option for any of those looking for a home base while vacationing in San Diego.
