Lonely Planet
If you’re timid, you’ll hate the neighborhood, but if you’re an intrepid traveler, these are good digs at great prices.
Cool, contemporary and undeniably original, this eccentric hotel is a stark contrast to its Victorian-dominated surroundings.
On a slightly sketchy block just off of Market Street, a few blocks from Union Square, the Hotel Metropolis is ideal for people who dread staying at a boring, corporate McHotel.
