Modern Resort Set Against the Backdrop of Old San Juan

Convenient for Cruising or Exploring

The Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel & Casino overlooks the harbor and is convenient to Old San Juan's most popular attractions. The hotel is directly across from the cruise ship piers and only three blocks from the imposing Fort San Cristobal, the largest Spanish-built fortification in the New World.

Guests are within walking distance of a number of bistros, shops, and galleries when they stay at the Sheraton Old San Juan. The Municipality of San Juan also offers a free trolley with stops throughout the historic district, including the often-photographed El Morro, a 16th-century citadel. It's a little over a mile from the hotel and a must-see for anyone coming to Puerto Rico. Condado Beach is also a quick cab or bus ride away.

Some of the Best Amenities are Courtesy of Mother Nature

The Sheraton Old San Juan capitalizes on gorgeous views to serve up some of the most amazing amenities in the heart of old San Juan. Guests will enjoy the rooftop pool, ideal for catching the sun's rays and feasting on expansive views of the harbor and surrounding azure water. Steps away from the pool is the Sheraton's health and fitness club. This room, on the building's top floor, provides guests with delicious views of the San Juan Bay as they work out.

For those who prefer to get their heart pounding from a game of chance, the Sheraton is the only one of San Juan's Casinos with a view of the bay. This small but energetic casino features 350 state-of-the-art slot machines.

Choose the Level of Luxury

These newly renovated rooms come with a delightful Sheraton Sleeper bed and in-room coffee makers with Starbucks coffee. Guests looking to save money on a room can select the traditional room. This room is well-appointed but lacks the stunning views of the deluxe rooms, which offer partial bay and romantic city views. The Sheraton also offers suites and a presidential room for the discerning traveler.

The Bottom Line

The Sheraton boasts an array of amenities, memorable views, and a convenient site. This hotel serves the mid-range luxury traveler as it's a bit pricier than a lot of the area hotels. There's a surcharge for Sheraton Old San Juan parking, but at a resort this centrally located, there's very little reason for a car. For guests who disagree, there is an on-site car rental facility.

Obviously, the Hotel El Convento has changed since the days it was home to Carmelite nuns living simple lives dictated by their vows of poverty. Today, guests enjoy every indulgence in...
Lonely Planet
Historic monument, tapas restaurant, meeting place, coffee bar and evocative colonial building…without a doubt El Convento is Puerto Rico’s most complete atmospheric and multifaceted hotel.
Puerto Rico's most famous hotel came back to life after a 1997 restoration, and it remains one of the most charming historic hotels in the Caribbean and a quintessential Old San Juan experience.
