More About Santorini Island, Greece Hotels...

What Budget Hotels Are Available on Santorini?

Many of the Santorini's budget hotels are in the town of Fira, which sits on a cliff high above the Aegean Sea. The town's white-washed buildings and small tavernas (traditional Greek restaurants) make the city a major attraction for cruise ship passengers from May through September. However, the sightseeing crowds are all gone by late afternoon, and by sunset, the town is quiet and peaceful once again. The less expensive, yet comfortable, hotels on Santorini include the Atlantis Hotel, the Kallista Thera Hotel, and the Aria Lito Mansion. Expect to pay between $50 and $80 per night for such hotels, depending on what season you travel.

What Are Luxury Hotels Like on Santorini?

Most luxury hotels on Santorini are located outside of the major cities. These resorts offer dramatic sea views and amenities like swimming pools and full-service restaurants. However, not all luxury hotels on Santorini are expensive. Luxury hotels such as the Volcano View Hotel & Villas, just outside of Fira, and the Andronis Luxury Suites Hotel in Oia, have secluded, well-appointed suites and offer a broad range of services. Prices range from $150 to $250 or more. Low-season (October through April) prices are substantially lower than high-season (May through September) prices.

What's the Average Price for a Boutique Hotel on Santorini?

Another good way to save money on hotels on Santorini is to choose one of the locally-owned "boutique" hotels.  These unique hotels can often be found for $100 or less. Good examples include the Kavalari Hotel and the Hotel Del Sol, both in Fira.
