Family Hotel With Upscale Restaurant

Well Placed Family Hotel

Located in the Arts and Financial district of Sao Paulo, the Golden Tulip Paulista Plaza offers enough to cater to both families and business travelers. Rooms are spacious, and business services ensure business guests are well cared for. The upscale restaurant may not fit into every family’s idea of a family restaurant, and the hotel offers two outdoor pools. Its location next to a major subway line provides quick access to downtown or the local Arts area.

Lots of Space, Small Beds

Although the rooms are spacious by international standards, with standard rooms measuring 30 square meters, they only come with one double or two single beds, not nearly enough bed space for a larger family. The hotel instead offers adjoining rooms with the same bedding options, allowing families to book two rooms instead of one room with two double beds as in many American hotels. Even the suites and deluxe rooms only offer queen-size beds. If you were hunting for a king-size option, it’s time to look elsewhere.

A Family Business

Not all hotels can provide enough amenities to cater to both business and family clients, yet the Golden Tulip does it well. Rooms are well-appointed with free toiletries and newspapers, and the hotel offers laundry facilities and services, a café offering light fare, and a well-recognized local luxury restaurant. A business center and conference space compliments family services such as childcare and extra roll away beds. For adults, the fitness center and spa services provide great pampering services.

A Little Far

Although only a block from Paulista Avenue, the hotel is toward the southeast end of the arts district, making a walk to the Museum of Arts of Sao Paulo (MASP) a 20-minute trip and the institutions on Avenue Dr. Arnaldo too far to walk. Yet most of Paulista Avenue can be walked from one end to other in 30 minutes. Downtown attractions easily accessed from this location, as it is a couple of minutes from the subway to downtown. Walking to downtown would take 30 minutes.

The Bottom Line

The Blue Tree Towers Paulista may be closer to the MASP, but visitors may prefer the Golden Tulip’s better pool and lounge areas. Both hotels score above their star ratings on major review sites, while the Golden Tulip’s rooms are also a little more spacious. Both hotels are on opposite ends of Paulista Avenue.
