More About Hotels near Auburn Municipal Airport...

For Inexpensive Hotels, Stay Near the Airport

Auburn is a great alternative city to stay in when visiting Seattle. Hotels in the area are less expensive the closer you get to the municipal airport. If you’re flying to Auburn Municipal Airport and you need a nearby hotel, the Days Inn Federal Way, Comfort Inn Auburn, Travelodge Inn & Suites, and Auburn Guesthouse Inn are all affordable options.

A few miles west of the airport, but still priced just right, are the Best Western Plus Evergreen Inn & Suites, Courtyard by Marriott, Hampton Inn & Suites, and the Econo Lodge. Although they are a little further south of the airport, the La Quinta Inn & Suites and Best Western Plus Peppertree Inn & Suites are closer to the Auburn city center and offer affordable rates as well as free hot breakfast.

Stay West For Better Interstate Access

Although Auburn Municipal Airport is conveniently located just south of Seattle and north of Tacoma, traveling to the surrounding cities by car is still a challenge. State Route 167 runs north and south through Auburn, but it isn’t the most direct, quickest route when driving into Seattle.

Interstate 5 is a better option for travel to and from Seattle and nearby Tacoma. Because the interstate is west of Auburn, the hotels mentioned above that are located west of the airport are ideal when it comes to fast and convenient access to Seattle. In addition, restaurant and gas options also increase closer to the interstate.

Keep Rental Cars in Mind for Ground Transportation

Because of its size, Auburn Municipal Airport is considered a reliever airport in that it accepts passenger overflow from other airports in the area. Although the airport mainly services single-prop airplanes, helicopters, and private commuter planes, there are still three rental car companies within the airport: Hertz, Budget, and Enterprise.

Taxi service is available between Auburn Municipal Airport and Seattle, but due to the distance between the cities, daily rental car rates to Seattle are oftentimes cheaper than one-way taxi fares.
