More About Hotels near Swedish Museum of Natural History...

A Beautiful Building Full of Natural History Exhibits

The Swedish Museum of Natural History, located in Stockholm, is one of two major museums in Sweden dedicated to natural history. The beautiful building housing the museum collections is the largest museum building in Sweden.

City Park Location Means No Hotels with Views

Unfortunately, there aren't hotels directly overlooking the museum, since it sits in the middle of a national city park (the first in the world). One cheap Stockholm hotel option nearby, though, is the Radisson Blu Royal Park Hotel, which overlooks the Brunnsviken Bay inlet and is directly across the bay from the museum.

Experience the Metro by Staying Close to City Center

Since there are no hotels in the immediate area, the biggest drawback visitors face is the travel between hotel and museum. To combat that, travelers might want to opt for a hotel near a metro stop.

The Best Western Plus Time Hotel is located near the city center and is only three blocks from a metro stop. The Elite Hotel Arcadia is just a seven-minute walk from the Stockholm Östra Station, from which travelers can ride the rail up to a stop just across from the museum.

Free Admission to Natural History Exhibits and Collections

The Swedish Museum of Natural History is closed on Mondays, with certain exceptions listed on the website. Permanent exhibitions do not have an admission fee, but films at the Cosmonova IMAX require a ticket purchase. There is also a restaurant in the building to help you keep your energy up between exhibits.
